The Cenarion Circle Faction

War is brewing in the distant lands of Silithus. All over the world, men and women are gearing up for one final push into the heart of the Qiraji empire to end the threat which has been lying in wait, barely contained behind the barrier erected by the Night Elven druids and the mighty dragon Anachronos during the climactic battle at the end of the War of the Shifting Sands. Ever since that fateful day, the members of the Cenarion Circle have kept a close watch on the wastes from their base at Cenarion Hold at the center of northern Silithus. There, the Night Elven and Tauren disciples of the magnificent demigod Cenarius have been waiting for the time when a hero would step forward to unleash the might of all the mortal races against the sinister Qiraji and their innumerable legions of Silithid minions. But the druids have not been idle during their long watch; they have crafted formidable weapons, armors and enchanted ornaments to assist all people who will brave the terrors of Ahn’Qiraj. Adventurers who have proven their worth in battle against the Qiraji forces beyond the Scarab Wall will be granted access to the ancient order’s arsenal.

At last, the long watch has ended – the hero has risen, to mend that which was broken, to unite people who were divided. But the true test is yet to come. When the gates of Ahn’Qiraj open, will the mortal races stand united once again and face the onrushing terror. or will they fade silently into the darkness that has risen once again in the distant lands of Silithus?

The Cenarion Circle History

Named in honor of the demigod Cenarius, the Cenarion Circle ensures the protection of nature and its creatures. Furthermore, the members of this faction act as keepers of ancient lore and pay particular attention to the traditional ways of the druids. In their role of protectors of nature, the men and women of the Cenarion Circle also strive to maintain the fragile balance within the world.

The faction was founded by Cenarius and Malfurion. Malfurion trained the first druids to join the group, but soon appealed to Remulos, one of the sons of Cenarius, for help. Remulos played a major role in forming the group and he taught young druids all the secrets they would need to master. With the passing years, the organization grew to include tauren, who shared similar views, as well as members of other races, until it reached its present form. The Cenarion Circle now includes many more members than it did originally, though its total numbers are still few. Its agents are active throughout Azeroth but are especially present on Kalimdor. Men and women from both the Alliance and the Horde are now welcomed in the Cenarion Circle, but the majority of its members are still night elf men.

Most of this faction’s members are either night elves or tauren. The Cenarion Circle, however, accepts men and women of any race; druids are members by definition, but other characters must prove themselves to the Cenarion Circle before to become accepted. Fervently dedicated to protecting the wilderness, the operatives of the Cenarion Circle consider their duties above the petty wars and futile disputes of the Alliance, the Horde, and any other faction, race, family or group. They are, after all, trying to save the world from people who would unwittingly destroy it; they allow no distractions.[1]

The Cenarion Circle is not without conflict. Staghelm, taking the mantle of archdruid after Malfurion Stormrage entered the Emerald Dream, objected to the introduction of the tauren into the order. He also embarked upon the creation of a new World Tree, Teldrassil, despite the objections of Remulos.

General Tips

Here are some tips to help you gain Cenarion Circle reputation. The Gates of Ahn’Qiraj must be open on your realm to enable some of these quests and rewards.

Kill! Kill! Kill!
Kill Twilight Cultists for 1 reputation each until you reach Honored reputation. If you have a group or a helper you can kill them more quickly for faster reputation gains. This can take a long time, but the rewards are worth it. You are able to also collect Twilight Sets used for summonings which can enable more reputation gains. You are able to kill Twilight Flamereavers for 1 reputation point until you reach Revered reputation.

Do Repeatable Quests

  • You are able to continue to repeat the Field Duty quests to gain reputation and badges. This will typically require a small group. The Field Duty quest gives 25 reputation each time you repeat it. After completing the initial Field Duty quest, you can select Combat, Logistics, or Tactical quests which give a related badge for each quest type. The completion of these quests gives 50 reputation.
    • Combat badges will typically require a group to earn. It is possible to earn them solo depending on your equipment, skill level, and class.
    • Logistics badges can be soloed. They are earned by gathering materials. Often you can buy these materials at the auction house. This requires gold to complete but enables you to trade gold for reputation which saves time.
    • Tactical Badges typically require a group but can be soloed sometimes.
    • If you turn in one Combat Badge, one Logistics badge, and one Tactical badge all at once via the Allegiance to the Cenarion Circle quest, you can gain 200 reputation. This is a great option if you’re not saving the badges for any of the Volunteer, Veteran, Stalwarts, or Champion Battlegear.
  • One of the most common methods of gaining rep solo is to gather Encrypted Twilight texts. They are dropped by Twilight Cultists mainly located at three camps in Silithus. There is also an Elite Twilight Prophet that drops multiple texts wandering in the region with a powerful escort. You need to collect 10 text for each turn-in for reputation. You gain 100 reputation per turn-in. You are able to buy these texts from other players in the region or on the auction house for quicker reputation gains. Many players get them on their own by killing Twilight Cultists.
  • Another repeatable quest you can do is the Abyssal Crest turn-ins. You need to get three of them for each turn-in. You gain 50 reputation. You also get a bag of spoils that contains cool things and sometimes things you can sell at the auction house. You are able to buy Abyssal Crests on the auction house or get them by killing the “tier 1 summons.” You summon these monsters by gathering a Twilight Cultist set (Robe/Shoulders/Cap), equipping them, and clicking on the Lesser Wind Stone at one of the Twilight Cultist camps in Silithus. Some characters are capable of soloing these summons while others will need a group or another player to help them.

Complete Quests
Many quests in Silithus can give you Cenarion Circle reputation once you complete them. Finish as many quests as you can. Some quests can be soloed, some require groups, while others may require a raid. Some players recommend waiting until the end of Honored reputation before doing the quests because at that point you can no longer gain reputation by killing Twilight Cultists. You are able to kill Twilight Flamereavers up to Revered.

  • Cenarion Hold: Go to Cenarion Hold base in Silithus and complete as many quests as you can. These give you Cenarion Circle reputation.
  • Travel around Silithus and complete any quests you can from the NPCs in the zone. Valor’s Rest is another quest hub at the bottom of the region.
  • Complete the quests for Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj

Try Abyssal Summons
There are increasingly powerful summons presented in Silithus. First, you summon tier 1 summons (Templars), then use the items you gain to summon tier 2 summons (Dukes), and then tier 3 summons (Lords). At the highest level, you’ll likely need a small raid to kill the monsters you summon. These monsters give reputation with Cenarion Circle once you slay them. The Duke summonings are the best for reputation gains. This is because the tier 3 summons only provide 25 more reputation while requiring a lot more components to summon them than the tier 2 summons. You gain the most reputation for killing the Dukes vs. summoning components required.

Dungeon Crawl
Spend as much time as you can in the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj killing “trash” monsters and bosses. This can allow you to quickly gain reputation with Cenarion Circle. You will of course need a raid to be successful at this so this isn’t always within your control. You are able to also gain some Cenarion Circle reputation by turning in Qiraji Lord’s Insignias gained by killing AQ40 bosses (Temple of Ahn’Qiraj). You are able to also gain a lot of reputation by killing C’Thun, the boss of AQ40.

Quests: The Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj

Once the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj open on your server, several quests become presented in Cenarion Hold for class specific armor sets. The sets consist of a ring, a cloak, and a weapon. The ring requires Honored reputation with Cenarion Circle. The cloak requires Revered and the weapon requires Exalted. See the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj Quest Loot page for maybe more info.

Quests: Field Duty

The Field Duty quest chain gives substantial rewards (including epics at the end) from a series of quests presented in Patch 1.9. These quests are not presented until the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj have opened on your server and the 10 hour Opening Event has completed. Visit the Field Duty page for complete details on this quest chain.

As of patch 2.3, many of the Field Duty quests have gotten much easier to allow soloing. The giant bug that must be killed in the Field Duty quest dies much faster now. The bugs in the three hives are no longer elite. Morna now has just two marauders, down from six. The Twilight Prophet now has just two guards, down from four. The templars also are easier to solo.

Please be advised that reputations gained for quests in italics might be out of date.

  • Field Duty (Alliance) – 50 reputation (50 reputation at Level 70)
  • Field Duty (Horde) – 50 reputation (50 reputation at Level 70)
  • [60] Volunteer’s Battlegear – 50 reputation
  • [60] Veteran’s Battlegear – 75 reputation
  • [60] Stalwart’s Battlegear – 50 reputation
  • [60] Champion’s Battlegear – 100 reputation

Farming Reputation Strategies and Hints

With the changes in patch 2.2, grinding this reputation has become far easier. All Twilight’s Hammer enemies now give reputation all the way to exalted, as well as all the way up to level 80. Previously they would have given less reputation to players that were 6-7 levels higher than the cultists.

At level 70 in entry-level raiding or PVP gear, Lords can be 2-manned with a healer and random combination, while any DPS class can solo Dukes, allowing the possibility of grinding scepters for larger reputation gains (not to mention the large amounts of gold and potions reward for scepter hand ins). The fastest reputation gain, however, is handing in [Abyssal Crest] from Abyssal Templars or [Abyssal Signet] from Abyssal Dukes, as it takes 3 times the grinding for only twice the rep, between Dukes and Lords, after the first hand-in of each class of drop. Here’s the rep gain rate for repeat hand-ins:

  • 150 for 3 [Abyssal Crest] from Abyssal Templars
  • 500 for 3 [Abyssal Signet] from Abyssal Dukes (1 Duke == 3 Templars)
  • 1000 for 3 [Abyssal Scepter] from Abyssal Lords (1 Lord == 3 Dukes == 9 Templars)

Or put another way, the 27 Templars that would need to be killed to summon 3 lords offer 1404 rep (9* 150 + 2* 27 rep at level 70) for handing in Crests, 2004 rep (3* 500 + 9* 50 + 2* 27) for handing in Signets, but only 1804 rep (1000 + 3* 100 + 9* 50 + 27*2) for handing in Scepters.

If you do not care about the possibly lucrative items off of the Lords, farming and returning Templars is the most efficient way to get rep. This is because you need 3 Twilight armor sets to turn in for 150 rep as opposed to farming Dukes that require 12 Twilight armor sets (3*3 for crests + 3 sets to summon Dukes) and 3 Large Brilliant Shards for 500 rep. Therefore, if you used those 12 armor sets for Templars instead, you would make 600 rep, instead of 500.

Some classes can solo the Lords at level 70, with a moderate set of epic gear. For example, a level 70 Moonkin with a full PvP arena set, roughly 10,000 health, 15,000 armor, 350 resilience, and 900 spell damage can solo Lords with relative ease, and Dukes are not particularly challenging at all. Most classes which can DPS, tank, and heal should be able to solo the Lords with high enough level 70 epic gear, and a little care. Classes which are unable to heal, but have sufficient dps, health, and damage mitigation should also be able to solo the Lords at level 70, in good gear (hunters are not one of these, as pets can’t be healed through the amount of damage delt for a long enough length of time).

Lords can be 2-manned with any melee/healer combo easily also, so if you’re a 70 melee, just bring a Lv 65+ healer along and you’re just fine.

Melee Classes will have a distinct advantage allowing a friendly to exalted grind at level 70 in a matter of hours.

Field Duty assistance

Players who want to speed up the reputation gained for killing Templars and Dukes grind may consider doing Field Duty a bunch of times to get a lot of Tactical quests. Many of the tactical quests will take you all over Silithus, and will give the player an additional Tactical quest. Players can save up tactical quests until they have all of the tactical quests 1 through 4. Once a player has all 4 of those quests in their log, killing Templars will reward additional rep from the tactical quest, killing all four dukes will reward additional rep from the 5th Tactical quest. This seems to speed the rep up for those players who don’t get as much credit from killing the cultists and who have an epic ground mount (players at 70).
