- Guild Experience has been done away with and replaced with Reputation. Reputation is earned on a per-character basis within the Guild; rewards will be unlocked similarly to how current Reputations work (see Guild Achievements below)
Guild Perks
- Guild talent system has been done away with in favor of the ‘perk’ system: Guilds will be able to advance 25 levels, and for each level attained, a new perk will be unlocked – it is unknown whether these perks will be similar to those thought of for the talent system (“Penny Pincher” – reduced repair costs; Mass Resurrection; “Everybody’s Friend” – removes reagent cost for raid-wide buffs; “Cash Flow” – increases gold drop rate from creatures/players that give experience/honor; “Raid Summon” – summon the entire raid instantly)
- Guild Experience can be earned through slaying dungeon/raid bosses, winning rated BGs, completing quests, or through Guild Achievements
Guild Achievements
- Guild Achievements will take the place of the Guild Currency system.
- Achievements can be unlocked for a variety of things, but will not work retroactively
- Once an Achievement has been unlocked, the reward associated with that Achievement can be purchased by anyone in the Guild using their own gold, once their Guild Reputation is high enough
- Such rewards will include a Guild Mount, complete with its own tabard
- To unlock Guild Raid Achievements, either 7 out of 10 or 20 out of 25 members of the raid have to belong to the Guild
Guild Professions
- It seems that Guilds will be able to work on and unlock Achievements. While working towards unlocking they will also be building rep within the Guild. Unlocking Achievements will unlock rewards for the Guild, rewards individual members will be able to purchase once their Reputation is high enough
- Members will be able to share any purchased profession plan with the rest of the guild via a vendor and skill trainer. Guilds are also able to create guild heirlooms; these items bind to the guild so that anyone in the guild will be able to acquire them. Just like the normal heirloom items, guild heirloom items will also scale with level and will support all armor and weapons.
- Guild members will also be able to take advantage of being able to create guild-specific versions of items that require fewer or different reagents. The new reagents are purchased from guild vendors, and there will be support for all professions.
- Heirloom items for the guild are expected to encompass every slot.
New Guild Features
- Guilds will receive a special guild news-feed that will show them updates on happenings within the guild such as achievements, boss kills, etc. Guilds will also have access to profession info for their members and more. In addition to these features, guilds will also be able to acquire a percentage of gold looted on boss kills that will go directly to the guild bank. Additionally, guilds will be able to invite other guilds to events.
- Guild Tax System – will be available so that a certain portion of the gold looted by every member will go into the Guild Bank
Other
- New Guild Achievements
- New Looking for Guild interface similar in ease-of-use and utility to the Looking for Group interface

I find that a lot of the guides here are geared toward players who have high-level characters that might be familiar with a lot of specialized gear. This made Auctioneer a little difficult for me to get a hang of, and I lost about 10 G that I borrowed from another player when I first installed it.
Much of the advice given here is “Know your market”. However, I think I would like to write something that’s geared for the person who’s just bought the game and is experiencing smelting bronze for the first time, or for the elf preparing for his first-ever run through the Deadmines, or for the Tauren woman learning about the majestic Barrens with her newly-tamed cougar running at her side.
Pricing your Gathered Goods
A lot of people use Auctioneer for buying and reselling. However, if you’re a fresh new player, you can install Auctioneer and use it for selling, as well. It helps price your goods so you can post what you gather for a good price, without the hassle of calculating prices on your own. Here’s a step-by-step guide to selling trade goods on the AH, aimed for a new player.
Choose a Gathering Profession
When you hit Level 5, choose a gathering profession. These are one of Mining, Skinning, or Herbalism, and to a limited extent, Enchanting. If you want more money, you can choose two, but I find that it’s less fun than choosing an appropriate crafting skill to go with your gathering skill.
At this stage, I’d recommend that you choose a profession that you want to do, instead of what makes you the most money. Every gathering profession gives you the opportunity to get rich. However, if you want to get rich quickly, I recommend mining.
Gather
Go out and gather a lot of stuff. It might be light leather, linen cloth, copper ore, rough stone, strange dust, whatever. Gather a few stacks of it.
- Copper ore and rough stone are acquired from mining veins and are common in newbie regions. If you’re Alliance, Dun Morogh and Elwynn Forest are loaded with copper ore. As Horde, explore Durotar and Tirisfal Glades, as well as the mountains of Mulgore for copper ore. Don’t forget to buy a mining pick!
- Humanoids drop linen cloth abundantly.
- Herbs, such as peacebloom and silverleaf, are available in rich quantities in the newbie areas. You may also be able to find earthroot and mageroyal, both of which sell for more than peacebloom and silverleaf.
- You can skin beasts and some humanoids (such as worgen) for light leather at lower levels. You will also often end up with ruined scraps, but these rarely sell in the auction house. Use them to make light leather if you have leatherworking.
- If you’re an enchanter, you can disenchant green weapons and armour to obtain strange dust and magic essence.
Posting Auctions with Auctioneer
Go to Auctioneer and do a scan. The scan button is at the bottom of your auction house interface. The process will take 10–15 minutes, and you cannot move away from the auctioneer at this point in time. It is best to take a break at this point.
Click on the “Post Auction” tab and drag a stack of whatever you want to sell into the Item Slot. Auctioneer will suggest a starting price and a buyout price. You can also change the number of stacks you wish to post (which makes selling large amounts very easy).
Now, there’s one section that people that I show Auctioneer get confused about, and that’s the text right beneath “Price Based On: Auctioneer Price” bar.
There is either:
- No Competition. This means that you’re the ONLY person selling this item on the Auction House right now.
- Undercutting by n%. This means that there’s competition, but your price is going to be cheaper than your competition by n%.
- Competition above market. This means that your competition is selling their goods for way above the estimated market price calculated by Auctioneer. Good for you — this means that your price is probably the best one.
- Competition below market. This means that your competition is selling their goods for way below the estimated market price calculate by Auctioneer. Bad for you as a gatherer. Good for you as a reseller.
If the text shows anything OTHER than “Competition below market”, then I suggest that you post your herbs, skins, or ore for whatever the price Auctioneer suggests.
The reason that Auctioneer is great is that it saves YOU time while giving you a good return on your labour. You’re going to sell your goods because your prices are low, but it saves time because you no longer need to calculate what a good price for your trade goods are. You can also post multiple stacks with one trip to the Auction House. The only thing you need to do is a scan every session before you post your goods, which will take about 10-15 minutes.
(A note. Many people suggest that you scan with Auctioneer for about a week before trusting its prices. This is true, but only when you’re buying. I’ve found that if you want to sell items with quick turnaround time, such as trade goods, then you can safely scan the market and post your goods immediately after. This is because Auctioneer takes a snapshot and sets your selling price based only on the competition on the AH at the time of your scan.)
Wait For Sales
Now, you need to wait for people to see your auction and buy it. Go do some quests, or logout. Wait a day or so. You’ll soon enough notice that your auctions have most likely sold.
So why is this? This is because when you did your scan and posted, your trade goods were the cheapest of anyone’s on the market at that moment, meaning that yours are going to sell first. As long as you keep posting items on the AH, you’ll be bringing in money, which is very important if you’re just starting the game and have barely enough money to train.
Just remember to scan the Trade Goods before you sell your herbs, ore, skins, or enchanting materials.
And that’s the most basic way that you can make Auctioneer work for you.
Later, I’m sure that you’ll develop a few variations of this strategy, like learning not to post too much when prices are low, stocking your materials in the bank and posting them only when the price is high, and so forth, but this is the most basic way to make lots of money.
Becoming a Reseller
I’d cover this, but many other people have covered it in the other Documentation sections. Take a look! They’re really good.
The only thing I recommend is that you gather a few gold pieces before you start. You can start reselling with as little as 5G, but make sure that is money you don’t need at the moment.
Miscellaneous Tips
Here are a few common mistakes I’ve found when using Auctioneer.
- Don’t buy anything until you know the market. This might require you to do a week’s worth of Auctioneer scanning, as well as a lot of investigation of what people end up buying and selling, as well as actually playing the game and listening to people you group with. The more you play and the more you pay attention to equipment that you want, as well as the more professions you get (with alts), then the more you will learn the general WoW market, as well as a few specifics.
- Since all characters of the same faction on the same server share AH data, create a level 1 alt and run it to the local AH. Configure the auctioneer to exit after a scan using the “/auctioneer finish exit” slash command. Each night before quiting (or in the morning before work/school) log in using your alt and scan the AH. Goto bed/work/school knowing you have up-to-date AH information when you return. For morning scans take it a step further and create a batch file that launches WoW and then calls shutdown (XP only). Now when the scan is complete, your machine will turn itself off.
- Some general tips to go along with your new-found AH data:
- Turn on the trade channel. Pay attention to what enchants people are asking for, and see if you can get the materials for those. Also see what people are looking to buy.
- Watch how prices fluctuate especially on the weekend. Note that Auctioneer doesn’t give you any data of cyclical trends, so you have to observe these yourself. What I’ve noticed most obviously is that trade goods spike during the week, and drop during the weekend.
- Watch the Transactions page carefully before posting anything you buy from the AH to make sure you’re actually getting a good return. Many things happen in an hour in WoW and it’s easy to get less of a deal than you think.
- Trade goods, especially basic goods gathered by gathering skills have an extremely fast turnaround time. They’re great if you need cash in 24 hours or less, but not nearly as good for making the big big bucks. Think of trade goods as your local bonds.
- If you can’t sell something, don’t just keep posting it again and again on the AH. Try the trade channel. Wait for a weekend before selling. Lower the price. Remember, if you buy something for 3G and can’t resell it for 6G, then try selling it for 5 or 4. In the worst case, you’ll sell it for a loss, but instead of losing 3G, you’ll only lose 1G. If you’re desperate, I find that going on Trade and threatening to Vendor something usually gets you a response (as long as you’re willing to actually accept a price around the vendor’s price). I bought a recipe for 5G, couldn’t sell it for two weeks, probably most an additional 1 G in deposits. Instead of keeping it as money sink, I threatened to vendor it for 1G and eventually got 2G for it. Sure, I lost 4G, but that’s not a big deal when you made 60G in the past week.
- When you’re selling items, generally, the order that people go is Trade Goods, then Recipes, then Weapons and Armour. The last one is where the real money is at, but it’s also the toughest to figure out. If you are not willing to take risky investments and buying out 10-25G items, then it’s best to keep doing recipes and trade goods until you have enough money.

Bagnon is an addon that merges all of your bags into three frames: One for your inventory, one for your bank, and one for your keyring. Beyond the basic all-in-one inventory functionality, Bagnon also provides the following features:
- Items can be colored based on quality
- Quest items can be highlighted
- Text searching (see syntax below)
- Offline viewing of inventory information from your other characters (via Bagnon_Forever or Bagnon_Armory)
- Databroker plugin support. Both the inventory and bank frames allow you to display a databroker plugin in the bottom left corner. I find this works well with things like Currency Tracker
Included Addons:
- Bagnon – Provides single window displays for your inventory, bank, and keyring
- Bagnon_Config – Provides a means of configuring said frames
- Bagnon_Forever – Enables the ability to view your character’s bank, or items from any other character on the same server, from anywhere. (You need to log onto each character at least once for this to work).
- Bagnon_Tooltips – When hovering over an item, this tells you who has an item, and where.
Slash Commands:
- All commands can start with either /bagnon or /bgn
- /bagnon keys – Toggles the keyring frame
- /bagnon bags – Toggles the inventory frame
- /bagnon bank – Toggles the bank frame
- /bagnon config – Displays the main options menu
Search Syntax:
- Bagnon 2.0 uses the same search syntax as Combuctor.
- Typing a search without any modifiers will perform a “smart” search. For example, typing “armor” will find all items of type “armor” as well as any items containing the word “armor”.
- To find an item by name, simply type the items name. Typing “silk” will find all items that have “silk” in their name.
- To find an item by type, subtype, or equip location, type t:<search>. “t:weapon” will find all weapons. “t:main” will find all main hand items.
- To find an item by quality, type q:<quality>. “q:epic” will find all epic items. You can also use a quality number. “q:0″ will find all grey items.
- To find an item by name, type n:<name>. “n:muffins” will find all items with names containing “muffins”.
- To find items in an equipment set, type s:<equipmentSet>. “s:fire” will find all items in equipment sets you have with names that start with “fire”.
- Searches can be negated using the ! operator. “!q:epic” will find all items that are NOT epic.
- A union of two searches can be performed using the | operator. Typing “q:epic|t:weapon” will find all items that are either epic OR weapons.
- An intersection of two searches can be performed using the & operator. Typing “q:epic&t:weapon” will find all items that are epic AND weapons
- The following search keywords are also supported:
- boe – Bind on equip items.
- quest – Items with “quest item” in their tooltips.
- bop – Bind on pickup items.
- boa – Bind on account items.
- bou – Bind on use items
Install Instructions:
Bagnon 2.13.2b download it. Click on a file link to start the zip file download. You would “open” the downloaded file or you can double click zip files to open them on Windows.

CarboniteItems - A data addon that contains information on over 25000 game items. It loads when you use the “Items >>” section of the Guide. Mouse over the item icons to see a Carbonite generated tooltip of information on the item. Search items for specific stats or where it came from. Sort by level, name or search line. Browse bosses for loot.
Map - The Carbonite map gives you all the information you need in one easy to use and flexible Google like map. Move, size or zoom it the way you like.
Carbonite supports the Blizzard maps added for WotLK instances. Right click an instance location on the map and “Toggle Instance Map” or enter the instance for it to be drawn on the Carbonite map. You will need to zoom in, since they are drawn at a small size. You can see your location and create favorites in the instance.
Quest - Blaze through quests at lightning speed and level faster than you ever thought possible. Our extensive quest database lists the location of quest givers, objectives and turn-ins. Simply click any objective from your quest list and Carbonite will show you where to go. No more wasted time bouncing back and forth between a web browser and the game.
Guide/Hud – The guide is your in-game GPS – it contains the location of every mailbox, trainer, flight master, repair vendor, instance, battle master, etc… if it’s in the game it’s in the guide. Just click the icon and the HUD navigation arrow will show you the direction, distance and ETA to your target. You can also use it to locate your friends or guild members in a battleground.
Warehouse - Browse the equipment, bag and bank slots of every one of your characters at one time! Check their professions, money, experience, honor, arena points and more. You don’t have to spend your time switching between characters, use the search filter to find the characters that have just what your looking for.
Battlegrounds - Dominate your opponents with our enhanced battleground map. See the combat status, heath, target and target health of all your teammates. See objective timers right on the map and issue orders with a click of the mouse – call for reinforcements to attack a vulnerable enemy target or simply announce the status of an objective.
Events - A time stamped list of experience and honor gained, enemies killed and other information. What was the name of that guy who ganked you 10 minutes ago? How much honor did you get from the last 3 kills? Did you land the killing blow? Look and see.
Gather - All mining and herb picking is tracked and can be shown on map.
UI - Windows can be moved, sized and locked. Values are saved for each character. Coexists well with most UI addons.
Privacy - Not in a social mood? Just turn off communication with guild, friend or zone and other Carbonite users won’t see what you’re up to.

Altoholic is an Ace 3 addon written for people who dedicate most of their time to leveling alts, and who want to have as much information as possible in one addon. The main feature of the addon is the search functionality which allows users to search their alts’ bags or loot tables in an Auction-House-like frame (see screenshots). All this with multiple-realms/accounts support.
Supports Game Version: 3.3.0

Altoholic WoW Addon
Features:
- Languages supported: enUS, frFR, deDE, esES, ruRU, zhCN & zhTW.
- Account-wide data summary:
- Characters’ talents: Full talent trees & glyphs are supported for both specializations.
- Money, /played, rest xp for each character, subtotals by realm, and grandtotals for the account.
- Bag usage: see at a glance which characters should get bigger bags (bag size, free slots and types included)
- Characters’ skills: skill summary on one screen, namely the 2 main professions + the 3 secondary skills as well as riding. I may add more if there’s demand.
- Reputations: a list of all the reputations of the current realm’s characters. You can see at a glance if all your alts are at least honored with Honor Hold if you want to get the new 2.4 blue PVP set. Suggestions on how to grind reputations will be available soon.
- View containers (bags, bank, keyring) of all alts, on all realms.
- Guild banks : You have 10 alts in 10 different guilds on the same server, all of them with access to a guild bank ? Not a problem, you can see them all here.
- E-mail: allows you to see which alts have mail without having to reconnect them. The addon will tell you when mail is about to expire on a character. Threshold configurable (up to 15 days). Multiple realm support as well. Mails sent to a known alt (one you’ve logged on at least once) will be visible in the addon without having to reconnect it.
- Equipment: See the equipment of the current realm’s alts in one screen. Very useful when purchasing stuff for your alts at the AH. Multiple realms supported. Right-clicking any equipment piece will allow you to find an upgrade, this feature is similar to the official wow armory feature, and is quite performant, even though it doesn’t match the accuracy of the official one.
- Search: the most important feature of the addon, it uses an AH-like frame to display search results. You can either search bags on the current realm, on all realms, or a loot table.
The loot table is a table based on AtlasLoot, but which contains only item id’s, and therefore keeps memory usage minimal.

Goblin: Starting Area
Here is the video on the Goblin starting area – enjoy! I love the casting animation for the male Goblin! As far as male characters go (as you know I’m not a fan of playing them) I think I’d actually play a male Goblin as well as the Worgen male. Did you see how BIG the turtle was compared to the Goblin?! I have never played a gnome so for those who have played a ‘tiny’ class it’s nothing new for you but I’m used to playing a Tauren and to see a turtle bigger than your character – wow hehe. It’s really neat too that your ’so ugly it’s cute’ bank follows you around. The environment is just amazing too, it’s almost like you can feel the heat!

Worgen: Starting Area/Transformation
Oooohhh my gods at the transformation you can see here! How cool is that?! I think I wanted this video a million times and I really like the animations as well. Granted I’m still a little upset that I can’t see a female Worgen but with all the time they are taking to work on them, they better be awesome. I am the most excited to play this race, even though I am very much so Horde.

This is the Worgen starting area and what can I say? It has very good atmosphere and setting, not to mention the customization on the Worgen looks nice as well. The only complaint I have over the Worgen is…..*drum roll*…no tail! They would have looked so much neater with a tail, then again that could be the fact that I adore tails, but still – a wolf tail? So cool! Not entirely sure on the castin animations for the Worgen. Is it just me or does it seem like they are waving their arms about so much that it looks like they’re flailing every which way?

Map - The Carbonite map gives you all the information you need in one easy to use and flexible Google like map. Move, size or zoom it the way you like.
