Gatherer WoW Addon

Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It’s main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it “remembers” where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.

Thori’dal, the Stars’ Fury is the name of a legendary bow that drops from Kil’jaeden, who is the last boss of the Sunwell Plateau 25-man raid instance. The name Thori’dal was first seen in the 2.4 PTR patch notes. This bow is currently the highest dps (level 70) weapon in game, excluding wands. Equipping the bow awards the Feat of Strength, Thori’dal, the Stars’ Fury.

There has been some debate in the roleplaying community and generally with those interested in lore, about who this bow belonged to and what makes it a legendary quality item, beside the stats of course. Some believe it’s the bow of Alleria Windrunner, judging by the model of the weapon which is highly reminiscent of High elven style, the yellow description it has and other loot Kil’Jaeden drops – among them is Coif of Alleria.

It could also be a weapon of some forgotten Night Elf hero from the War of the Ancients, seeing as some other drops from the encounter date that far back. It is also speculated that the bow is actually a manifestation of the Sunwell’s energy, that is suggested from its name, its quote, and the ability to generate arrows when the string is drawn.

Notes

Thori’dal generates magical arrows when the bow string is drawn, thus eliminating the need for the hunter to carry ammo. Attempting to add ammunition to the paper doll slot Thori’dal will not add extra DPS, and instead produces an error message “Ammo slot full.” The high DPS of this bow is most likely the result of this lack of need for arrows since there will be no +damage added from such. The contemporary top arrow (in Burning Crusade) was [Timeless Arrow] with a +53.0 bonus and this gives Thori’dal a comparative DPS of 109.8 – presumably. However, due to the nature of Steady Shot, this weapon vastly increases hunter DPS, in spite of having comparable DPS to [Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas] with [Timeless Arrows].

Originally, Thori’dal had a +15% attack speed effect not stacking with ammo quivers or pouches, allowing the hunter to carry a fourth normal bag. This was removed in Patch 3.1.0 as ammo bags no longer grant haste.

Although Thori’dal was obviously added for hunters, it is not limited to them and may be equiped by any class that can train to use bows. As of Wrath of the Lich King, it is the highest level, permanent legendary weapon available to hunters: the only other available weapon that is legendary and permanent is [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker].

So far the bow has no confirmed lore behind it. Indeed, is the only permanent, legendary weapon available to players to have no story or lore to rationalize nor explain its existence.

General Vezax

Overview

General Vezax is one of the few bosses in Ulduar that don’t change phases. He will remain the same during the entire encounter, which makes the fight against him relatively easy to learn, compared to other bosses. His hard hits and the specifics around the mana regeneration during the encounter makes him a test for tanks and casters. Melee DPS have easy time for once.

There are few things to watch out during the fight. People outside melee range might be targeted by Shadow Crashes – these need to be avoided until they land, after which ranged DPS can enter the puddles left behind for extra damage and reduced mana cost. Healers should avoid those at all cost.

Mark of the Faceless is the other debuff to watch out for. Anyone affected with it should run away from any nearby players, since they heal Vezax.

Searing Flames should be interrupted every time, and Vezax should be either kited during the Surge of Darkness, or his damage should be countered by a defensive cooldown.

In addition to all this, Vezax’s Aura of Despair will eliminate almost all mana regenration from the fight. Check the Abilities section for details which spells work. Mana users will need to destroy the floating Saronite Vapors and stay in the green puddles left behind to replenish mana. Keep in mind, the buff damages the caster as it restores mana, so more than 5-6 stacks might, and usually are, deadly. Melee DPS won’t have such trouble, but their attack speed will be reduced by 20% by the aura.

The first of the refinements being made is that we’re combining all raid sizes and difficulties into a single lockout. Unlike today, 10- and 25-player modes of a single raid will share the same lockout. You can defeat each raid boss once per week per character. In other words, if you wanted to do both a 10- and 25-person raid in a single week, you’d need to do so on two different characters. Normal versus Heroic mode will be chosen on a per-boss basis in Cataclysm raids, the same way it works in Icecrown Citadel. Obviously the raid lockout change doesn’t apply in pure Icecrown terms though, as this change goes hand-in-hand with a few other changes to raid progression in Cataclysm.

Infinite Corruptor is a boss located deep within Stratholme. He is found corrupting a bronze dragonspawn during the Culling of Stratholme, leaving upon success. He’ll only drop Reins of the Bronze Drake besides the badges. This is a guaranteed drop.

Players seeking to battle him only have 25 minutes from the first Scourge wave to kill him; merely engaging him does not stop the timer. He is located in the Market Row which is located just past the gate leading to the Mal’Ganis encounter. He’s at the far end of the left side of the junction past the gate, while Mal’Ganis is on the right.

He is only present in heroic mode.

Nathrezim (called dread lords or dreadlords in the Common tongue) are intelligent and cunning demons who were discovered and recruited to the ranks of the Burning Legion by Sargeras, the dark titan. “The mysterious beings of the Burning Legion called the dreadlords are also known racially as the Nathrezim. Little is known of their homeworld and even that is rumor. They act as tacticians and lieutenants upon the field of battle in time of war, as well as being emissaries and agents for the fiery lords of the Legion, notably Kil’jaeden. During the Third War, they served as the Lich King’s jailors, on the behest of Kil’jaeden, and commanded the Plague that swept through Lordaeron.

They are known to be extremely manipulative and masters of trickery; they are thal’kituun, the unseen ones.
