Karazhan

Karazhan is an abandoned ancient tower, located in Deadwind Pass. It is a ten-man raid dungeon for players who have reached level 70. Karazhan is notable for its famous occupant, the last Guardian of Tirisfal, Medivh. You can use Medivh’s staff, Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian, to teleport players to the front gate of Karazhan.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (or Cata for short) is the upcoming third expansion for World of Warcraft and was officially announced on August 21, 2009 at BlizzCon 2009. The majority of the expansion content takes place in drastically reforged Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms.

It is to include the playable races of the worgen for the Alliance and the goblins for the Horde. Flying mounts will finally be usable in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. Deathwing will make his return into Azeroth from Deepholm, causing a new Sundering.

Lore

From the official site:

An ancient evil lies dormant within Deepholm, the domain of earth in the Elemental Plane.

Hidden away in a secluded sanctuary, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has waited, recovering from the wounds of his last battle against Azeroth and biding his time until he can reforge the world in molten fire.

Soon, Deathwing the Destroyer will return to Azeroth, and his eruption from Deepholm will sunder the world, leaving a festering wound across the continents. As the Horde and Alliance race to the epicenter of the cataclysm, the kingdoms of Azeroth will witness seismic shifts in power, the kindling of a war of the elements, and the emergence of unlikely heroes who will rise up to protect their scarred and broken world from utter devastation.

Archaeology

  • New Secondary Profession: Archaeology – lets you collect and use artifacts unearthed from the ancient races
  • No longer linked to Path of the Titans; Geared more towards exploring the lore of the game.
  • Each archaeologist uses the profession to uncover clues hidden in the world around them, such as troll relics or map fragments, and decipher their meaning, enabling the clever archaeologist to manipulate pieces of the past, learning the location of a treasure cache or valuable artifact. Such artifacts are highly sought after by the Archaeology Society, and they pay in gold and items for their return.
  • Interacting with an artifact you find is similar to other gathering professions. It has been specifically stated that you will be able to track both Artifacts and your regular “tracking” for gathering professions.
  • Recovered artifacts will be placed in a Journal, not in bags
  • Rewards from Archaeology will be something “like”: a skeletal T-Rex non-combat pet or the ability to teleport to a dungeon you’ve been to before
  • Two types of artifacts: Common – more lore-oriented; and Rare – when combined will create usable items, sometimes even weapons

Reforging

  • allows Tailor to modify cloth gear, Leatherworkers to modify leather, etc.; Specifically, they can reduce a single statistic on applicable items and convert 50% of the lost points into another stat not already on the item; this service can also be provided to other players if you see fit
  • it appears this will be enacted using scrolls, and some stats may not be permissible to swap over, like stamina —> strength – see link for more info

Herbalism

  • All Cataclysm herbs have the chance of containing Volatile Life.
  • There won’t be a new Lotus equivalent in Cataclysm.
  • Heartblossom — Named for its deep red color, this delicate flower grows close to the ground, and always in pairs. If one blossom is taken, the other flower begins to wilt immediately and dies soon after. It is considered very unlucky to disturb a Heartblossom without blessing it first.”

Mining

  • Obsidian is the new common mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems, Volatile Fire, and Volatile Shadow.
  • Elementium is the new uncommon mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems, Volatile Fire, Volatile Water, or Volatile Earth.
  • Pyrite is the new rare mineral found when mining in Cataclysm, and can contain gems and Volatile Fire.
  • Previous Elementium Ore and Bar used for classic quests will be renamed to Elementium Ingot and Hardened Elementium Bar.

Skinning

  • Savage Leather, the basic Cataclysm leather, can be gathered from most creatures found in the expansion areas and can be converted to Heavy Savage Leather at a 6:1 rate.
  • Pristine Hide, the rare Cataclysm hide, can be found when skinning creatures in the expansion areas, or be converted from Heavy Savage Leather.

Alchemy

  • New elixirs will be about 75% as strong as flasks. So you can get more total stat points with two elixirs, but flasks will still be the best at giving you a single offensive or defensive stat.
  • New unique material used by nearly all high-level recipes will be created by alchemists on a one-day cooldown.
  • New Mysterious Potion created with common materials restores health and mana in a massively random range, as well as sometimes granting the benefit of another potion. The health and mana range is from 1-20,000 and is able to crit. The minimum amount restored, however, is scaled upwards by the Alchemy skill, making it a great choice for alchemists to keep for themselves.
  • All potions and elixirs now use the same basic vial type. Flasks still use a fancy vial.
  • New Alchemist Stone.

Enchanting

  • may be able to finally enchant gear with resilience
  • In general, material component costs for most recipes are more moderate in how much they require, while the highest-end recipes will still require large quantities. The goal of this change is to make the leveling recipes more consistent and not create unintended roadblocks in getting to the higher skill levels.
  • An enchanter vanity pet is being added.

Weapon Enchantments

  • Avalanche — Chance to deal Nature damage on melee hit/spell hit.
  • Elemental Slayer — As expected, this enchantment helps players deal devastating damage to elemental creatures.
  • Hurricane — A stacking haste proc.
  • Heartsong — Mana regeneration through increased Spirit when chain-casting spells.
  • Many more maximum-level enchantments are still in progress.

Engineering

  • Engineering is still being designed, but expect new unpredictable gadgets to use on yourself or enemies. Toys, explosives, and even a new vanity pet or two. Oh, and powerful mechanical bows and crossbows in addition to guns.
  • In general, we want Engineering to remain a tradeskill mainly focused on creating fun or useful gadgets for the engineer, but we are exploring options for items that can be sold to other players for profit.

Inscription

  • With the large number of class changes coming with Cataclysm, many existing glyphs will see new functionality.
  • Minor glyphs are woefully uneven from one class to the next right now, so they’re a focus for us to clean them up and try to ensure that everyone has minor glyphs they’re excited about.
  • New Darkmoon Cards will be added, with hopes they’ll all be as awesome as the Greatness card.
  • We’ll be adding more major glyphs as well, but in the hopes of making them as balanced as possible, we’ll likely wait until after the expansion ships to add any for the new abilities in Cataclysm.
  • New and more desirable off-hand and relic recipes will be added.
  • Addition of ‘Medium Glyphs’ that may focus more on ‘fun’ alterations to abilities. Idea is to have 3 of each type of Glyph (Minor, Medium, and Major) at level 85
  • Possibility of making Glyphs permanent and swappable
  • Glyph UI will now show all Glyphs that are available to your class

Jewelcrafting

  • Some gem colors have changed! Hit is now blue. Mastery and Dodge are yellow. Intellect is now red. These simple changes have created a much more diverse matrix of gem cuts.
  • New Jewelcrafting dailies will be introduced.
  • Many cuts are being added to support the new Mastery stat.
  • Some new Cataclysm jewelry recipes have completely random properties, and can sometimes create superior and epic versions.
  • Jewelcrafters will have some fun new (and potentially lucrative) vanity items, including fist weapons, rhinestone sunglasses, monocles, and stardust (sprinkle on players for entertainment).

Cooking

  • Cooking is still in the early stages, but we plan on continuing with daily quests, feasts, and some fun new recipes.
  • We liked the cooking dailies that had players picking up items that spawned in the world near the quest giver, so most if not all new cooking dailies will work similarly.

First Aid

  • Bandages will have a short cast time and put a heal over time effect on the target for 8 seconds. This effect is broken by damage.
  • Three new bandages! That’s right: THREE!
  • “Dense Embersilk Bandage” Heals for 34,800 over 8 seconds. Requires 3 Embersilk to create.

Fishing

  • Lots of new fish and other fun items to catch! Fish are still used to make premium food.
  • New fishing dailies.

Other

  • New Recipes
  • Skill Cap raised to 525 – “Illustrious”
  • Skill Points: allow the gaining of multiple points for some tasks; while intended for Crafting profs, this has been mentioned for Gathering as well
  • Profession Specialization removed

I find that a lot of the guides here are geared toward players who have high-level characters that might be familiar with a lot of specialized gear. This made Auctioneer a little difficult for me to get a hang of, and I lost about 10 G that I borrowed from another player when I first installed it.

Much of the advice given here is “Know your market”. However, I think I would like to write something that’s geared for the person who’s just bought the game and is experiencing smelting bronze for the first time, or for the elf preparing for his first-ever run through the Deadmines, or for the Tauren woman learning about the majestic Barrens with her newly-tamed cougar running at her side.

Pricing your Gathered Goods

A lot of people use Auctioneer for buying and reselling. However, if you’re a fresh new player, you can install Auctioneer and use it for selling, as well. It helps price your goods so you can post what you gather for a good price, without the hassle of calculating prices on your own. Here’s a step-by-step guide to selling trade goods on the AH, aimed for a new player.

Choose a Gathering Profession

When you hit Level 5, choose a gathering profession. These are one of Mining, Skinning, or Herbalism, and to a limited extent, Enchanting. If you want more money, you can choose two, but I find that it’s less fun than choosing an appropriate crafting skill to go with your gathering skill.

At this stage, I’d recommend that you choose a profession that you want to do, instead of what makes you the most money. Every gathering profession gives you the opportunity to get rich. However, if you want to get rich quickly, I recommend mining.

Gather

Go out and gather a lot of stuff. It might be light leather, linen cloth, copper ore, rough stone, strange dust, whatever. Gather a few stacks of it.

  • Copper ore and rough stone are acquired from mining veins and are common in newbie regions. If you’re Alliance, Dun Morogh and Elwynn Forest are loaded with copper ore. As Horde, explore Durotar and Tirisfal Glades, as well as the mountains of Mulgore for copper ore. Don’t forget to buy a mining pick!
  • Humanoids drop linen cloth abundantly.
  • Herbs, such as peacebloom and silverleaf, are available in rich quantities in the newbie areas. You may also be able to find earthroot and mageroyal, both of which sell for more than peacebloom and silverleaf.
  • You can skin beasts and some humanoids (such as worgen) for light leather at lower levels. You will also often end up with ruined scraps, but these rarely sell in the auction house. Use them to make light leather if you have leatherworking.
  • If you’re an enchanter, you can disenchant green weapons and armour to obtain strange dust and magic essence.

Posting Auctions with Auctioneer

Go to Auctioneer and do a scan. The scan button is at the bottom of your auction house interface. The process will take 10–15 minutes, and you cannot move away from the auctioneer at this point in time. It is best to take a break at this point.

Click on the “Post Auction” tab and drag a stack of whatever you want to sell into the Item Slot. Auctioneer will suggest a starting price and a buyout price. You can also change the number of stacks you wish to post (which makes selling large amounts very easy).

Now, there’s one section that people that I show Auctioneer get confused about, and that’s the text right beneath “Price Based On: Auctioneer Price” bar.

There is either:

  • No Competition. This means that you’re the ONLY person selling this item on the Auction House right now.
  • Undercutting by n%. This means that there’s competition, but your price is going to be cheaper than your competition by n%.
  • Competition above market. This means that your competition is selling their goods for way above the estimated market price calculated by Auctioneer. Good for you — this means that your price is probably the best one.
  • Competition below market. This means that your competition is selling their goods for way below the estimated market price calculate by Auctioneer. Bad for you as a gatherer. Good for you as a reseller.

If the text shows anything OTHER than “Competition below market”, then I suggest that you post your herbs, skins, or ore for whatever the price Auctioneer suggests.

The reason that Auctioneer is great is that it saves YOU time while giving you a good return on your labour. You’re going to sell your goods because your prices are low, but it saves time because you no longer need to calculate what a good price for your trade goods are. You can also post multiple stacks with one trip to the Auction House. The only thing you need to do is a scan every session before you post your goods, which will take about 10-15 minutes.

(A note. Many people suggest that you scan with Auctioneer for about a week before trusting its prices. This is true, but only when you’re buying. I’ve found that if you want to sell items with quick turnaround time, such as trade goods, then you can safely scan the market and post your goods immediately after. This is because Auctioneer takes a snapshot and sets your selling price based only on the competition on the AH at the time of your scan.)

Wait For Sales

Now, you need to wait for people to see your auction and buy it. Go do some quests, or logout. Wait a day or so. You’ll soon enough notice that your auctions have most likely sold.

So why is this? This is because when you did your scan and posted, your trade goods were the cheapest of anyone’s on the market at that moment, meaning that yours are going to sell first. As long as you keep posting items on the AH, you’ll be bringing in money, which is very important if you’re just starting the game and have barely enough money to train.

Just remember to scan the Trade Goods before you sell your herbs, ore, skins, or enchanting materials.

And that’s the most basic way that you can make Auctioneer work for you.

Later, I’m sure that you’ll develop a few variations of this strategy, like learning not to post too much when prices are low, stocking your materials in the bank and posting them only when the price is high, and so forth, but this is the most basic way to make lots of money.

Becoming a Reseller

I’d cover this, but many other people have covered it in the other Documentation sections. Take a look! They’re really good.

The only thing I recommend is that you gather a few gold pieces before you start. You can start reselling with as little as 5G, but make sure that is money you don’t need at the moment.

Miscellaneous Tips

Here are a few common mistakes I’ve found when using Auctioneer.

  • Don’t buy anything until you know the market. This might require you to do a week’s worth of Auctioneer scanning, as well as a lot of investigation of what people end up buying and selling, as well as actually playing the game and listening to people you group with. The more you play and the more you pay attention to equipment that you want, as well as the more professions you get (with alts), then the more you will learn the general WoW market, as well as a few specifics.
  • Since all characters of the same faction on the same server share AH data, create a level 1 alt and run it to the local AH. Configure the auctioneer to exit after a scan using the “/auctioneer finish exit” slash command. Each night before quiting (or in the morning before work/school) log in using your alt and scan the AH. Goto bed/work/school knowing you have up-to-date AH information when you return. For morning scans take it a step further and create a batch file that launches WoW and then calls shutdown (XP only). Now when the scan is complete, your machine will turn itself off.
  • Some general tips to go along with your new-found AH data:
    • Turn on the trade channel. Pay attention to what enchants people are asking for, and see if you can get the materials for those. Also see what people are looking to buy.
    • Watch how prices fluctuate especially on the weekend. Note that Auctioneer doesn’t give you any data of cyclical trends, so you have to observe these yourself. What I’ve noticed most obviously is that trade goods spike during the week, and drop during the weekend.
    • Watch the Transactions page carefully before posting anything you buy from the AH to make sure you’re actually getting a good return. Many things happen in an hour in WoW and it’s easy to get less of a deal than you think.
    • Trade goods, especially basic goods gathered by gathering skills have an extremely fast turnaround time. They’re great if you need cash in 24 hours or less, but not nearly as good for making the big big bucks. Think of trade goods as your local bonds.
  • If you can’t sell something, don’t just keep posting it again and again on the AH. Try the trade channel. Wait for a weekend before selling. Lower the price. Remember, if you buy something for 3G and can’t resell it for 6G, then try selling it for 5 or 4. In the worst case, you’ll sell it for a loss, but instead of losing 3G, you’ll only lose 1G. If you’re desperate, I find that going on Trade and threatening to Vendor something usually gets you a response (as long as you’re willing to actually accept a price around the vendor’s price). I bought a recipe for 5G, couldn’t sell it for two weeks, probably most an additional 1 G in deposits. Instead of keeping it as money sink, I threatened to vendor it for 1G and eventually got 2G for it. Sure, I lost 4G, but that’s not a big deal when you made 60G in the past week.
  • When you’re selling items, generally, the order that people go is Trade Goods, then Recipes, then Weapons and Armour. The last one is where the real money is at, but it’s also the toughest to figure out. If you are not willing to take risky investments and buying out 10-25G items, then it’s best to keep doing recipes and trade goods until you have enough money.

With the final battle against the Lich King just on the horizon, Lead Content Designer Cory Stockton and Lead Systems Designer Greg Street discuss what awaits players inside Icecrown Citadel and offer a glimpse at the design process behind Wrath of the Lich King’s ultimate raid and dungeon encounters.

What were you looking forward to most about developing Icecrown Citadel?

Cory: I think the most exciting thing about developing Icecrown Citadel was just knowing that we were working on the final chapter of the Northrend expansion, and that we’d really be able to give players that ultimate sense of completion of the storyline. Arthas is a huge character in Warcraft lore, so we took a lot of pride in making this the best experience we possibly could.

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

Icecrown and the Frozen Throne are important parts of the world of Azeroth and have quite a bit of history, especially for longtime Warcraft players. How do you convey the significance of these places and the events that took place there in design?

Cory: History was a large factor in the design of Icecrown Citadel from the very beginning. When we first sat down to discuss the layout of the raid itself, we immediately went back to Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne to think about how the spire from the ending cinematic could be translated into World of Warcraft. We decided to actually build Icecrown Citadel around the original spire to pull players even more into the storyline. This kind of thinking carried on throughout the entire design process.

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

Greg: We want Icecrown to be an epic experience from top to bottom, and that includes the loot you get. We’re not going to shower players in items — well, more than we already do — but we do want to make sure the items are sufficiently powerful so that they’re upgrades for all of our players.

Is there an existing model in World of Warcraft for Icecrown Citadel’s itemization or style of play? What lessons that you’d learned from earlier projects wound up being applied to Icecrown Citadel?

Greg: The nice thing about Icecrown Citadel from an itemization perspective is that we have lots of bosses. That’s something of a relief coming from the Crusaders’ Coliseum, where we had only five bosses. For Icecrown, we can afford to have multiple options for a particular slot — say a healing leather bracer or a melee trinket — and even itemize some of the more unusual pieces. We have a pretty effective system for figuring out who is going to drop what to make sure that an individual boss will be interesting to a variety of players in terms of loot. Most of our lessons learned are in the realm of what differences there should be between 10- and 25-player itemization, the role of tradeskill recipes, and what kinds of items to place with badge vendors.

Cory: I think we learn lessons from every raid that we do. We didn’t model Icecrown specifically after any of our previous raids, but you can definitely see influences. For example, we have a winged structure in Icecrown that players will remember from Naxxramas. Another example of an influence would be the teleporters from Ulduar. We know that players really loved that concept, so we brought it back in Icecrown.

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

Can you talk a little about how artists and designers on the team collaborated on the creation of Icecrown Citadel?

Cory: The design and art teams worked extremely closely throughout the entire development process. The biggest single influence on the look and the layout of the dungeon comes from our concept art, and there was no shortage of that for Icecrown Citadel. Once we locked down the layout, we were able to get to work on the final art extremely quickly thanks to the existing style we’d developed for the Icecrown zone. We really wanted the players to feel connected to the environment, but we wanted to make sure it still had an amazing look. Often times, these two things are hard to mix, but in this case, I think we’ve been able to pull off an amazing dungeon from both the art and design standpoint.

What sorts of new loot and item abilities will we see in Icecrown?

Greg: There are three main sources of loot for Icecrown: the bosses themselves, the Emblem of Frost badge vendors, and a new faction, the Ashen Verdict, that will provide suitable rewards as well, particularly at the Exalted level.

As far as the items themselves go, we want them to feel epic. In addition to having favorable optimization, we also want to try a lot of experiments to make the items feel cool and unique. We are going to try to do a lot of weapon procs, for instance, which is something we haven’t done much since the original World of Warcraft.

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

When you set out to itemize “sister” areas — like the Icecrown Citadel dungeon and raid, or Halls of Stone, Halls of Lightning, and Ulduar — do you take any steps to make loot from these places feel similar?

Greg: Absolutely. We approach that on two fronts: the art and the names. When we did the Halls of Stone and Lightning, we hadn’t completed the Ulduar raid yet, so the items there didn’t necessarily have Titan-influenced art models for us to use. We are doing the Icecrown dungeon at the same time as the raid, and it’s a style we already know pretty well, from Naxxramas and even the Warcraft RTS games.

Naming is something we’ve had a lot of fun with. There’s a ton of lore to draw from for Icecrown loot and it has a very strong “kit.” World of Warcraft players know to associate the Scourge with spiders, bats, and cultists along with more traditional forms of undead, like skeletons and liches.

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

Do you itemize Icecrown’s “trash” — the enemies between bosses — differently from elites elsewhere in the world?

Greg: We make sure there is epic trash loot — specific items that only drop from trash. It helps keep players interested between bosses. However, we aren’t doing Heroic trash, just Heroic bosses, so there won’t be unique trash loot for Heroic versions of the 10- and 25-player versions of the raid. We try to construct the trash in such a way that it isn’t trivial to go farm the first pull or whatever in hopes that an epic drops. We make our raids more accessible now in general, so I’m not sure the motivation is there to try stunts like that the way it once was. We want players who have raided so far in Wrath of the Lich King to be able to actually fight the Lich King, so chances are a lot of raiders will have plenty of opportunities to gear up. Now, the Heroics are another story — those will be as challenging as they were in Ulduar and Trial of the Crusader, and the items will likewise be even better.

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

What have you done to make the tier-10 sets feel like a meaningful advancement from tier 8 and tier 9? How do they visually represent Icecrown’s lore and history?

Greg: Not only do we want them to be a meaningful advancement, but we want them to feel really awesome. This is Arthas loot you’re talking about. We started by spending a lot of time on the concept art to make sure it tied into the type of creatures you’ll encounter and the whole Icecrown art “kit” in general. For example, the rogue tier-10 set has a strong geist look to it, while the hunter set has strong Nerubian elements, and the mage set looks a lot like the Blood Princes. You can see the Icecrown look and feel in a lot of pieces, which itself drew strongly from the Lich King’s original helmet. Look for lots of blue, ice, skulls, and spikes.

We have also spent a lot longer on the set bonuses than we usually do. It’s important that they feel awesome for every class and spec. Going back to the Crusaders’ Coliseum, part of the challenge we made for ourselves was to create an instance that didn’t require as much time or resources as Ulduar to develop, yet was still cool. We had set bonuses for the tier-9 gear, but they were often simple — more crit on a common ability was a typical one. For tier 10, we’re really going for set bonuses that change your game up a little. At the very least, you should want to change your rotation a little, though this is easier with some classes than others.

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

If you had something like a mission statement or a slogan for itemizing Icecrown, what would it be?

Greg: Epic. Cool things. Proc’y stuff.

Seriously, that’s our mission statement. One of the risks of itemization is making things feel too formulaic. We know that when we step outside the bounds too much, players can have a bad reaction to it, like, “Why does my gear for this tier suck?” It’s easy to fall into the trap of making the new gear feel just like the last gear with 20 more stat points. That is the exact design approach we use for the PvP gear, and left unchecked, it would be easy to go the same direction with the PvE gear as well. We’re trying not to do that. We think we owe it to Icecrown for the gear to be memorable, but that means we’re going to take a few chances.

Can you talk about any of the new mechanics we’ll see in the raid?

Cory: One of the coolest new things we’re doing in Icecrown is the gunship air battle. Players will be able to board their respective faction’s gunship and then take to the air for a battle to the top of the citadel. They’ll be fighting on the decks as well as using vehicles’ cannon emplacements. If you’re really daring, you can put on a goblin rocket pack and propel yourself back and forth between the two battling gunships. Needless to say, this will be a type of encounter that our players have never experienced before.

Icecrown Citadel’s structure is extremely vertical — what challenges does that present from a layout perspective?

Cory: Well, we knew from the start that the layout was going to be vertical, just due to the nature of the original spire. There are a number of things that we’re doing to help players get around and not get lost. We’re using elevators, teleporters, and even gunships to get players where they need to go in the dungeon. We are also going to have an in-game map with full support for all floors — that should help too.

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

The Heart and Souls of Icecrown Citadel

Icecrown is the last major raid and dungeon before the release of Cataclysm — how has that affected the design?

Greg: The major challenge from an itemization perspective is that the items have to last basically until Cataclysm. That means we can’t afford to give them away too quickly, but they also need to feel powerful enough that players are motivated to keep trying for them. On the other hand, the really fun thing about doing a final raid tier is how it unties your hands. We can afford to make these items great because nothing needs to follow on their heels. It’s cool to be able to optimize the items very well, because it’s okay if players don’t want to replace these items for a long time.

Cory: We are really pushing as hard as we can to deliver the most epic experience possible. We know that our players have been waiting for this for a long time, and we plan to deliver. Everyone should expect to see this sort of storytelling and attention to detail in Cataclysm as well. I think we are always striving to pull the people who play our game into the storyline and really give them an explanation for why they’re there. It won’t be too long before they’ll get a chance to bring the pain to Deathwing!

Thanks, both of you – we’re looking forward to playing through Icecrown Citadel after patch 3.3 is released!
