Infinite Corruptor is a boss located deep within Stratholme. He is found corrupting a bronze dragonspawn during the Culling of Stratholme, leaving upon success. He’ll only drop Reins of the Bronze Drake besides the badges. This is a guaranteed drop.

Players seeking to battle him only have 25 minutes from the first Scourge wave to kill him; merely engaging him does not stop the timer. He is located in the Market Row which is located just past the gate leading to the Mal’Ganis encounter. He’s at the far end of the left side of the junction past the gate, while Mal’Ganis is on the right.

He is only present in heroic mode.

Salramm the Fleshcarver is the second boss in the Caverns of Time: Culling of Stratholme. He is a member of the Cult of the Damned, cult of necromancers loyal to the Lich King and partially responsible for the creation of the Scourge.

Necromancers are mortal practitioners of death magic, commonly referred to as necromancy. Channeling their knowledge of the arcane into manipulation of the forces of life and death, these men and women were instrumental in the forming of the Scourge in Lordaeron.

Necromancers are spellcasters whose magics manipulate the power of death. In calling upon this power, necromancers risk being consumed by it — until eventually they join the ranks of the undead. Necromancers twist arcane magic to manipulate the power of death. Commanding the undead, generally in the service of the Scourge, they gradually take on the characteristics of the dead — hollow eyes, shambling gaits, pallid and sunken skin, foul odors and so forth.

Meathook

Meathook is an abomination and the first boss of the Culling of Stratholme, a wing of the Caverns of Time.

Abominations are undead, ogre-like creatures, mounds of corpses cobbled together. The stomach-churning reek is choking, and a green-brown haze surrounds them. Their guts spill from a jagged gap in their stomach, and flies buzz about it, feasting. Three disproportionate, arm-like limbs emerge from their bloated body, two bearing bloody cleavers, and the other a thick chain with a hook on the end. Their tongues are thick and round and dangle from between crooked, yellow teeth.[3]

Almost all abominations lack any real intelligence, having an I.Q. closest to that of an ogre on average. Abominations outwardly appear strangely joyful due to their absent-minded expressions and mannerisms, though this is most likely due to their low level of mental capacity. Like their undead cousins, abominations lust for flesh and are known to eat not only the living but the dead as well.

Important Scourge abominations include Glutton (a constantly hungry abomination found in Razorfen Downs), Ramstein (the ruthless guardian of Baron Rivendare’s slaughterhouse in Stratholme) and the titanic Patchwerk (whom Kel’Thuzad uses as his “Avatar of War”).

Mal’Ganis was one of the nathrezim sent by Archimonde as a jailor of the Lich King. He was chosen to head up the plot to turn Prince Arthas to darkness, and make him the Lich King’s greatest champion.

Mal’Ganis is the final boss of the Culling of Stratholme, a wing of the Caverns of Time.

Nathrezim (called dread lords or dreadlords in the Common tongue) are intelligent and cunning demons who were discovered and recruited to the ranks of the Burning Legion by Sargeras, the dark titan. “The mysterious beings of the Burning Legion called the dreadlords are also known racially as the Nathrezim. Little is known of their homeworld and even that is rumor. They act as tacticians and lieutenants upon the field of battle in time of war, as well as being emissaries and agents for the fiery lords of the Legion, notably Kil’jaeden. During the Third War, they served as the Lich King’s jailors, on the behest of Kil’jaeden, and commanded the Plague that swept through Lordaeron.

They are known to be extremely manipulative and masters of trickery; they are thal’kituun, the unseen ones.

Located in the eastern part of Tanaris, the Caverns of Time contain various portals to different key time periods and events in Warcraft history. The caverns act as a crossroads for the various timelines, and through them one can travel back and forth along the ebb and flow of time. The Caverns of Time are home to the Brood of Nozdormu and the bronze dragonflight. It is their sacred charge to guard the caverns against the intrusion of mortals, whose interference would assuredly disrupt the flow of time. Recently, a mysterious force called the Infinite Dragonflight has begun to meddle with time. The bronze dragonflight is recruiting adventurers to make sure that the events that took place in the past remain as they were.

The Culling of Stratholme is one of the timeways (“wings”) accessible in the Caverns of Time. It is centered around helping Prince Arthas purge the city of Stratholme from the grain-infected populace, and is one of the first acts in Arthas’ descent into madness and evil, eventually becoming one of the Lich King’s greatest death knights and later the Lich King himself.

Culling of Stratholme (CoS) is the name of the fourth Caverns of Time wing, released in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.

It is a 5-person, level 80 instance centered around helping Prince Arthas purge the city of Stratholme from the grain-infected populace. At the end of the instance players fight and defeat the Dreadlord Mal’Ganis.

Nightbane

Nightbane is a summonable raid boss in Karazhan. He is a fiery skeletal dragon, transformed by Medivh from Arcanagos and formerly of the blue dragonflight. While not the ruler of Karazhan, a position apparently held by Prince Malchezaar, many consider Nightbane to be the true final boss of the tower, due to his superior difficulty in the early days of the dungeon’s release. A raid member must have completed the  Medivh’s Journal questline to summon the boss. This means Heroic Shattered Halls and Sethekk Halls must be partially completed in order to obtain the [Blackened Urn], which is used to summon Nightbane.

Its date of creation is unknown, but it is known that Atiesh was forged from the “seed of hate” and was wielded by each Guardian of Tirisfal until the line ended with Medivh. This would set the age of Atiesh at thousands of years.

Following the assassination of Medivh, the staff was brought to Dalaran where it was held by successive members of the Kirin Tor, who all found their deaths soon (except for highborne sorcerer Tarsis Kir-Moldir, it appears). After all these deaths, it was decided that the staff was to be put “behind impenetrable barriers of magic” and a “watcher” was appointed: Angela Dosantos. The shattering of the staff came about following the destruction of Dalaran by Archimonde, probably due to the failsafe system of the magical barrier. Atiesh was shattered into forty-two pieces which were scattered across all of Azeroth[3]. Brann Bronzebeard held the Base of Atiesh, which he somehow lost to C’Thun. The Scourge captured the forty-one other pieces, twenty of which were initially held by Tarsis. Forty pieces of Atiesh were each entrusted to a different lieutenant of Kel’Thuzad within Naxxramas, while the fallen mage himself held the staff’s head.

When Naxxramas appeared over the Eastern Plaguelands, the Argent Dawn attempted to prevent this powerful focus of power from falling into the hands of the necromancer-lich, Kel’Thuzad, and were apparently successful in this regard.

Later, Meryl Winterstorm sent Garona Halforcen on a mission to retrieve the base of the shattered staff from within the remains of C’Thun. Garona succeeded and gave the base to Med’an, who restored the whole staff simply by holding it while being imbued with the powers of the New Council of Tirisfal.

    Lady Jaina Proudmoore

    Lady Jaina Proudmoore

As a young apprentice of the Kirin Tor, Jaina Proudmoore was heralded as a prodigy. Her mentor, the venerable archmage Antonidas, believed that the gifted sorceress would one day assume his mantle as the Kirin Tor’s leader. Although Jaina was devoted to her rigorous studies of the arcane, she found herself in a romantic relationship with her childhood friend Prince Arthas Menethil, son of King Terenas II. Jaina and Arthas had strong feelings for each other, but they eventually parted ways to pursue their separate callings. Arthas was busy with his duties both as a paladin of the Silver Hand and as the heir to Lordaeron’s throne, while Jaina was well on her way to becoming one of Azeroth’s most powerful magi.

When the plague of undeath began ravaging Lordaeron, Jaina and Arthas were side by side once again. The talented sorceress worked with the prince to uncover the sinister plague’s origins, and in the process she witnessed Arthas’ unsuccessful attempts to stop the spread of undeath. Jaina was with Arthas at the outskirts of Stratholme when he made his terrible decision to cull the plague-infected city. Jaina, however, played no part in that murderous act. When the fall of Lordaeron to the Scourge seemed inevitable, Jaina led a group of Alliance survivors to Kalimdor in order to combat the Burning Legion. There Jaina’s forces helped banish the Legion from Azeroth with the aid of the orcs and the night elves. This temporary alliance was made possible by the Prophet, a mysterious being who worked to unite the humans and the orcs against the Legion. Following the Legion’s defeat, Jaina founded the stalwart port city of Theramore on Kalimdor’s rugged eastern coast. She also maintained peace between her forces and the orcs with the help of Thrall. Due to Jaina’s tireless work, Theramore remains a bastion of the Alliance in Kalimdor to this day.

Currently the Horde and the Alliance are engaged in an all-out war in Northrend against the Lich King, who had earlier merged with Arthas to become one being. The offensive is gaining momentum, and Jaina occasionally attempts to act as a mediator between the Horde and Alliance factions. Most recently she tried to quell a fiery encounter between King Varian Wrynn and Garrosh Hellscream when they were discussing the ominous discovery of an Old God under the titan city of Ulduar. Maintaining peace between the headstrong leaders of these two factions is not easy, but Jaina is dedicated to focusing their energies on defeating the Lich King. For Jaina this imperative is more than just her duty to defend her people: it is personal. Perhaps in her heart she believes that the Arthas she knew from her past still exists somewhere deep inside the Lich King, awaiting freedom.
